After motoring from the Mahurangi Harbour to Kawau Island it wasn’t long before I was “ready” to try my hand at actual sailing. I say ready because sometimes you just don’t know what you don’t know. My dad told me I had to do it so I guess I had to!

By this stage I still wasn’t convinced about thew condition of the sails or rigging, nor of my ability to use them, so I opted to just use one sail to begin with. It turned out to be an amazing experience even though I didn’t have the boat fully set up. I hope you enjoy the video…
